Migration and renovation of the industrial facilities in the URJC
Our project at the Rey Juan Carlos University aims to support our client to meet their operational goals: to maintain its leadership from the sustainability and energy efficiency point of view in the university environment and public administration. This is one of the managerial and administrative objectives of the Rey Juan Carlos University – URJC, which is certified with the ISO 50001 Standard, the international standard regarding the improvement of energy management systems with the purpose of continuous optimization of the energy efficiency, security, use and consumption with a systematic approach.
Currently, URJC has an obsolete control system for the facilities and, in many cases, with spare materials and equipment that are not available. In turn, the control installation is made up of equipment from different manufacturers, most of them proprietary, which creates great difficulty in coordination and in meeting energy objectives.
To face this challenge, our project focuses on the implementation of a complete energy management solution in buildings BMS – Building Management Systems, designed to optimize control and performance based on advanced algorithms that facilitate interconnectivity between systems, guaranteeing high levels of automation and efficiency in the monitoring of all processes, systems, subsystems and peripheral events related to energy management in the campus.
The scope of the project includes all the field elements, either for replacement, relocation or supply and installation of new ones to improve installation efficiency. The SCADA BMS of the – Facility Control Systems, SCI, based on the Siemens EcoStruxure integrated management system, incorporates all the field equipment and is integrated with all the systems such as the classroom reservation system, electrical control system (SME), building analytics system (SAE) and an intelligent CMMS maintenance manager.
This project extends to the Facilities Control Systems, SCI in all the buildings of the five campuses of the Rey Juan Carlos University:
Integration of the control software SCADA BMS for building management based on an integrated management system installed in the URJC server
Replacement of the Facilities Control System, SCI, and interconnection with the building analytics system, the maintenance management system, the energy monitoring system and the classroom reservation system
Installation of control panels with the ability to communicate directly with the ICS
PLC Integration – Modbus Integrable – for performance monitoring of production equipment
Integration of all associated equipment such as boilers, pumps, condensation towers and chillers
Management and control of signals for the following facilities:
