The Ferro Smart Grid project researched the concept of smart grids in the railway sector by developing an experimental prototype. The first smart grid for railroads opens up many possibilities to use the energy produced by train braking efficiently, based on electro mobility and energy storage systems for efficient energy consumption. It also allows for the interoperability of different electrically integrated urban and interurban transport systems through smart nodes.
Acisa was involved in developing an advanced system for vehicle charging stations in collaboration with leading companies in the energy and mobility sectors such as Schneider Electric, Indra, Adif, and Telvent. The project included elements such as tactile information and payment points, remotely managed charging posts, location and telemetry of electric vehicles and apps.
